With the launch of Starwood Careers Next Gen across Starwood Asia Pacific showcased a huge amount of talent and creativity by our Asia Pacific properties. In this edition of Living Starwood Cares, we feature the innovative launches by properties from South East Asia, Thailand-Vietnam-Cambodia and the Japan-Korea-Guam region.
Launch Newsletter by W Bangkok
W Bangkok launched Starwood Careers Next Gen on 20 September 2013 and through it, communicated Starwood Careers as a platform to grow one’s career. Typical of W, the launch had music, games, fashion and outstanding design. Check out their on-brand launch newsletter below.
Personalized Posters by The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali had a successful launch event on 30 October 2013. They made a special effort to feature 35 Associates who have been participating in Starwood Careers programs. This is a way to recognize their contributions to the resort, and also to motivate others to learn and grow with Starwood. Please find three sample posters below:

Event Highlights
Launch Event Graced by Minister of Tourism at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu

On 2 September 2013, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu invited YB Datuk Masidi Manjun, Sabah State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, local students, media members and of course all Associates to its Starwood Careers Next Gen launch event. In his speech, the Minister highlighted the needs to grow the State’s talent pool in the hospitality and tourism industry. He credited Starwood Careers program as a great program that contributes to the State’s goal and urged the candidates to leverage this program to achieve their personal aspirations.

Let Your Aspirations Fly! by Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur
19 August 2013 marks the launch of Starwood Careers Next Gen at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. The event was centered around the theme "Your Aspiration, Your Journey", making individuals ponder on their personal aspirations and pen them down on balloons. At the end of the event, Associates released their balloons and let them fly to the sky, wishing that their career dreams will come true one day by leveraging Starwood Careers.
Aspiration Walls
Path-to-Peak Aspiration Walls by W Seoul – Walkerhill
3 December 2013 was a memorable day for Associates at W Seoul – Walkerhill. They were introduced to Starwood Careers and encouraged to discover their aspirations and commit to a journey that leads to their career’s peak. Associates wrote their aspirations onto boxes and stacked them to form numerous mountain peaks. Check out their aspiration walls in the photos below.
Open the Window to your Aspirations! By Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay
Among the first to launch Starwood Careers Next Gen, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay had their 2-day launch event on the 28 and 29 August 2013. All Associates were invited to write the aspirations on boxes and together, they made up the “window view”. With the help of the Engineering team, the hotel installed 3 aspiration windows in its staff canteen where Associates can revisit their aspirations every day. The window both figuratively and literally opens them to their own aspirations.
